by Chaos Rules

Fatal Distraction (AMERICAN PHARAOH STABLE) is a prolific winner of five from seven but though not discounted will likely be a victim of his own success trying to carry a double penalty here.

Hurricane Alexander (KDS) has run every qualifier this season and placed in three. Should run his race and not without hope.

Blue Jean (LANES END FARM) goes for the double having lifted the juvenile classic crown last season. She was a close-up fifth to dead-heaters Fatal Distraction and Battle Czarina when last tackling this trip and may have improved since then having posted an exceptional front-running performance to blitz the field in a ridiculously fast time over 1 1/4M.

Rockpool (CHAOS RULES) took a qualifier over 1 1/4M but has been readily brushed aside twice since.

Freewill (NPMJ RACING) has acquitted himself well this season with two places in qualifiers including a very close third over the finals conditions behind Fatal Distraction and Battle Czarina and can be expected to be thereabouts.

Battle Czarina (BLACK CAT RACING) is weighted to get the better of Fatal Distraction this time and expected to go close over what is probably her best trip.

Rumours (NEMESIS STUD) won the first qualifier of the season over the finals trip and although only tenth was not beaten far when tackling it again recently. Will need to improve a little and hard to judge if that’s possible. Classy Diana got closest to Blue Jean last time and that puts him firmly in the picture. He should be comfortable at this shorter trip.

Merseyside Tale (BLACK CAT RACING) has put in some respectable efforts but this may be a little too tough for him. Story Of Zag has decent form (proven on trip and going) but would not be expected to trouble the principles.

Wrath Of The Titans (ANFIELD ROAD) won a qualifier over 1m fast last time out but will struggle to see out this trip.

Cherokee Warrior (ILLITERATE BUNCH) has run well enough including over the trip but others look more likely candidates for the win.

ANALYSIS: Battle Czarina expected to put up a fight but BLUE JEAN looks dressed to kill.

ODDS: BLUE JEAN 2/1 Fav, Battle czarina 4/1, Classy Diana 9/2, Freewill 5/1, Hurricane Alexander 13/2, Story Of Zag 7/1, Cherokee Warrior 15/2, Rumours 8/1, Merseyside Tale 9/1, Fatal Distarction 10/1, Wrath Of The Titans 12/1, Rockpool 16/1

by: Chaos Rules

Following a somewhat unremarkable juvenile campaign there was reason for optimism with a nice added maiden win to close with and the progress has been maintained this season with two wins and a third putting The Fly (NEMESIS STUD) way out in front. Proven over both the trip and going he has ticks in all the right boxes and it becomes a big surprise to know that this horse was picked up for $5 from the stable manager. Shaft on the other hand looks to have done his best work as a juvenile and has fallen short so far this season.

Evening Moon (ANFIELD ROAD) was a cheap acquisition from Nemesis Stud and ran The Fly very close over 1 1/8M firm. He has since eased home from Glimmer Of Hope over 1 1/4M firm in a very fast time so has strong claims though does pick up a penalty for that win

Hyperbolic (CHARNWOOD STABLE) last seasons juvenile heroine has run well but will not be able to complete this tricky double as she does not get this trip.

Rancid Kitten (LANES END FARM) won a qualifier over 1m but does see this trip out but has a bit of ground to make up on plenty of these following her latest run behind Evening Moon. Nevertheless she is lightly raced and open to improvement.

Glimmer Of Hope (KINGS OF THRONES) skipped a juvenile campaign and is still a maiden following his four runs this season but should not be disregarded on that count. His last run when beaten a neck by Evening Moon was brimful of promise especially as he is now 2LB better off.

Prolific winner Democratic Values (AMERICAN PHARAOH STABLE) won a qualifier over shorter and will not be able to carry his double penalty over a trip he does not stay.

Fortune Dream (NPMJ RACING) was a close fourth to the fly and entitled to go well but does not look too likely to be able to improve on that.

Jagermeister (JONJOS YARD) has continued to improve but still looks a little short of the required standard.

Brunels Twister (BLACK CAT RACING) had a very lucrative juvenile campaign and has run reasonably well in this one but is vulnerable to a quick pace over this trip.

Kalmove (RUBI ROCKS) was an excellent third to Evening moon and Glimmer Of Hope and it is puzzling that this one is still a maiden.

ANALYSIS: Glimmer Of Hope has much more than that here but, given Lanes End Farms track record, late bloomer RANCID KITTEN may leave him with the sweet taste of success.

ODDS: GLIMMER OF HOPE 7/2 Fav, The Fly 4/1, Rancid Kitten 5/1, Fortune Dream 6/1, Evening Moon 7/1, Brunels Twister 8/1, Kalmove 9/1, Jagermeister 10/1, Shaft 12/1, Hyperbolic 14/1, Democratic Values 16/1

By: Chaos Rules

Teneriffe (ANFIELD ROAD) tops the qualifying list but has plenty to find on running behind Golden Jade and El Mother De Oro latest start when beaten 3L. One Breed cannot be faulted for effort but has failed to trouble the judge in six starts this season. Look At My Tail has picked up a couple of minor wins this season but looks hard pressed at this level.

Bumblebee (BIGBOYSTEVE) was also in the above race and even further back in sixth so also has plenty to do here though that may have been an off-day as he has appeared to run better previously.

Indy Takes Charge (AMERICAN PHARAOH STABLE) fourth in the above race would probably appreciate another furlong.

Bouncing Bimbo (BLACK CAT RACING) showed an impressive turn of foot to cut down her rivals over 6F fast in a very quick time, winning by an easy 2L. There is no reason to think that she will not be equally effective over this trip.

Golden Jade (CHAOS RULES) has the clear beating of half the field on her last run but a noticeable absentee on that occasion was likely favourite Bouncing Bimbo who had already done enough to qualify and did not need to risk picking up a penalty.

Lightly raced So La Ti (RAYLEIGH DOWNS STABLE) has run very respectably, albeit primarily over 6f, and is not easily dismissed here.

Sunni Bear (CHARNWOOD STABLE) was picked up in a $25 claimer and looks a decent claim having placed in two qualifiers. This juvenile Graded Gold winner is another worth considering.

Venice Beach (NEMESIS STUD) was well beaten by Bouncing Bimbo over 6F but had previously won a added progress under finals condition in a respectable time so entitled to consideration.

Penalised runner El Mother De Oro (CLOSUTTON COGNAC) finished 1L behind Golden Jade and is no better off so has a bit to do.

Bulkhead (MELISSA) has run respectably without looking up to this.

ANALYSIS: Golden Jade looks sure to go close but BOUNCING BIMBO is expected to spring to the front when it matters.

ODDS: BOUNCING BIMBO 3/1 Fav, Golden Jade 4/1, So La Ti 9/2,Sunni Bear 5/1, Venice Beach 6/1, El Mother De Oro 13/2, Bumblebee 7/1, Indy Takes Charge 15/2, Tenneriffe 8/1, Look At My Tail 10/1, One Breed 16/1, Bulkhead 20/1

By: Chaos Rules

The top two qualifiers in this final, Chasing Yesterday and Powerful attraction are both trained by AMERICAN PHARAOH STABLE as is Jezebels Kitten further down the board. All three are out of the stables top sire Guest Of The Year. Powerfulattraction beat Chasing Yesterday 2L in a qualifier over 6F soft but Chasing Yesterday looks to have improved since judged on her next two runs and its hard to choose between them. Jezebels Kitten has been well beaten over this trip and looks better over further.

Headgear (ANFIELD ROAD) set a new 3yo record when winning its maiden early this season and has proved a bargain buy taking a qualifier over 7F firm. He does carry a penalty here however and looks unlikely to overcome that. Stablemate Tank has struggled in claimers before his qualifier second to Headgear and does not look a likely candidate. Nor does World Of Warcraft on all known form.

Tigers Diamond (KDS) was an excellent second in last season final but has not shown enough to be put forward this term.

Golden Coupe (BLACK CAT RACING) has placed in three qualifiers but the fact that he was only fourth in an added progress race under finals conditions tempers confidence.

Crowning Glory (NEMESIS STUD) won a 5F qualifier on firm last time out and should be at home in this final though overall form not strongly compelling. Invasion Of Quizmo has good recent form but mostly over further.

Last seasons champion Bolder Still (LANES END FARM) was an impressive winner first time out beating many of todays rivals over 6F soft and, despite a defeat when carrying a penalty over the minimum on her only subsequent start, she remains unexposed and is the one to beat.

Sirius (ILLITERATE BUNCH) has struggled so far this season and needs to find significant improvement to figure.

Start The Migraine (RAYLEIGH DOWNS STABLE) has run respectably without looking a likely winner so improvement needed.

ANALYSIS: Several with chances in an open looking final but BOLDER STILL expected to remain champion.

ODDS: BOLDER STILL 4/1 fav, Chasing Yesterday 5/1, Golden Coupe 11/2, Powerfulattraction 6/1, Crowning Glory 13/2, Tigers Diamond 8/1, Start The Migarine 10/1, Headgear 12/1, World Of Warcraft 14/1, Jezebels Kitten 15/1, Invasion Of Quizmo 16/1, Sirius 18/1, Tank 20/1,

Initial Training to assess your horses

The entire game is built around understanding how to apply the information that is provided.  There's almost nothing secret about it.  The fundamental basis for skill is how a player uses that information to make decisions.  Hence, the game is not here to tell you how to do that but rather that is the point of the game.  It is competitive by nature and skill is by far the governing factor.

To help new stables to get started in the learning process three of the more established stables have submitted their methods of undertaking the initial assessment of a horses ability and preferences.

You will see they are all different as each player has developed their own ‘method’. There are no rights and wrongs in this game and it is down to each player to develop their skills and methods in ways which work for them.

Method 1

Method 2

Method 3

TRAINING YOUR FIRST HORSE – Method 1

Submitted by Nemesis Stud

2yr old bought from the sales ring. On the first day you have 8 farm trains and 2 public trains . Farm trains only you can view, Public trains the whole community can see.

 First 4 trains

Go to Horse Page go to train horse.

2 headings Farm Workout (private) and Track Workout (public)

Farm train is default so keep at that, directly underneath you have 3 titles, Surface + Condition, Distance, Runs.

Keep Surface + Condition as ALL.

 Distance, change to 1m (1600)

Runs, change to 4, then press train

You will now have 4 trains completed over 1m (1600) on fast, good, soft and firm.  Now look at the times and notice which surface produced the best time.

5th train,

Change Surface & Condition to best surface

 Change Distance to 1 ¾ (2850)

Run keep as 1 , now press train.

6th train

Do exactly the same as above but change distance to 5f (1000), then press train.

You now have 6 trains completed with 3 being on best surface and over sprint, classic and stayer distances.

Now to see which distance is better for your horse you have 2 choices

1 Horse page, directly under View Growth you have recent runs, upcoming races, training, event history and qualifier standings.

Click training, and you will see 6 trains, 4 over 1m (1600), 1 over 5f (1000) and 1 over 1 ¾ (2850), next to those hopefully you will see coloured stars, yellow 1 star means it’s train is within top 50% of site, 2 blue star trains means  it’s within 25% of site and 3 green star trains is within 5% of site.

Hopefully you have 3 green star trains against one or more of the trains, whichever is better then this could be it’s best distance.

The other way to check your times is under STABLE, PREMIUM FEATURES then GLOBAL WORKOUT STATS. Here it will give you the options to view all farm workouts times over all distances for your age group.

Once you have found best going

And surface, you now need to workout which accessories will give the best results for your horse. You have 3 to choose from, Ear Muffs, Tongue Tie and Blinkers.

Go to the Horse page, on the right hand side you have Train, Race, Geld, Equipment, press Equipment. Here you have the option to add one piece of equipment at a time. Alternatively you can use MASTER TRAINER, this will either cost $2 or 2 BC’s. and this option allows you to ask the master trainer about one of the pieces of equipment.

I always ask the master trainer about Ear Muffs, however other players will ask about Tongue Tie, not often they ask about blinkers. If you decide to ask about Ear Muffs, the trainer will offer a positive or negative comment, if positive then add that piece of equipment to your horse.

Assuming you have chosen Ear Muffs, there is no need to train the horse with this piece of equipment added as the master trainer is always correct.

Now go and add the blinkers, now train the horse over the best surface and distance and 1 run. You should now see an improvement in the horse's time, if you do not then it might not like blinkers, if it has improved keep blinkers on and add Tongue Tie. Again train over best distance, surface and 1 run. If you see an improvement then keep the item attached, if not remove it.

That is a brief summary of equipment, however it is not as simple as testing once. If you have used the  Master Trainer and one piece of equipment improves the horse then that will always stay attached, and that is eliminated from further checks. With the remaining two accessories you will need to check more than once to get a overall picture of how the horse performs with them attached

That concludes the first 8 trains. You now have 2 Public work options. These two workouts will give you a better understanding of the potential quality of your horse.

On the train page, change to Public Train, then change Surface + Condition to best going, change distance to best distance, leave Runs as 1 and press train.

Now to view how good the time is compared to other horses on the site, go to hover of NEWS, then look to the left and under LEADERBOARD you will see PUBLIC WORKOUTS,  to view the train you have just ran, change the surface to either dirt or turf and press age 2 then press filter. You will now have a view of the top 100 public trains and hopefully you will see yours in the top half.

Now for the final public train, you can do it over the same distance but change the surface, so if your best surface was GOOD, then change to FAST, then press train and see how it compares, or you can can train again over good but choose a different distance within the category of Sprint, Classic, Stayer. So if you trained first public over 1m (1600) good, then do either 1 ⅛ (1800) or 1 ¼ (2000), press train and then see how they stack up with other public trains.

The 2 public trains will not remove any stamina, and this is only for the first 2 times. After that any public trains removes the stamina. If your horse is training over a distance which is too far the stamina will show less than 20%, the lower it is the further away from the ultimate trip your horse requires, if it is over 20% then your horse will be running too short a distance.

Now after these 10 trains, you can now race your horse without any penalty,

TRAINING YOUR FIRST HORSE – Method 2

There are 2 ways to obtain a new horse; sales ring and breeding.

They are quite different in how to approach training, in this instance I will concentrate on the Sales Ring.

When you purchase from the sales ring, you have no control on what horse you will get. No control over distance or ground preferred. These come from a large pool and are generated randomly.

So you have dipped in and bought 1 horse. It has no name, so give it one 😊, makes it more personal. Click on the change name tab.

With any new horse you get 8 trains in that day. If you leave it until the next day, you only get the standard 2 days, so work it on the day you buy it.

So what do we want to find out with these works?

Best Ground

Best Distance

Any Adds required

I always work at 2850 when testing, purely because any difference in times is increased over this longer distance and makes it easier to read. You won’t get weird results if it’s a sprinter and you work at 2850.

Best Ground

Another trick is look at the growth on each surface, if dirt has more growth than turf, it will be a dirt horse. Also, any sire that is marked as Irish, it will be a turf horse. So, you should be able to know the preferred surface. However, to check using trains:

1 2850 Fast

2 2850 Firm

Which time is fastest? This will be preferred surface. However, some like both and you may not get much difference, so I would keep working on all 4 surfaces.

So we now know the surface, lets say DIRT. So from now on we will work on dirty fast, keeping variables the same as much as possible.

3 2850 Fast, Ear Muffs added, is this time faster than work 1? If so the horse needs EM on, if slower, it doesn’t

4 2850 Fast, Tongue Tie added, is this time faster than work 1? If so the horse needs TT on, if slower, it doesn’t

5 2850 Fast, Blinkers added, is this time faster than work 1 If so the horse needs B on, if slower, it doesn’t

So, you will now have 3 adds tested against the naked fast work. Any adds that gave a faster work with them added, place them onto the horse. It may need none or all 3.

As a further point, if any times are close to the naked one, you could work again and test over the coming weeks and take an average. So if B were close to the naked time, work 4 times over 2 days at 2850 fast with no adds and then 4 works over 2 days with B on. Take an average and see if the add is needed.

An important fact to remember is Tongue Tie can improve the stamina on a horse. So if you work it at 2850 without TT and it ends with 4% stamina, try TT and you may see 10% plus stamina. HOWEVER, the time may now be slower. It’s a trade off sometimes!!

SO WE NOW HAVE SURFACE AND ADDS.

Now, you get 2 public works. Public are like going on a track for an exhausting workout, so will be faster than a gentle farm work. This also gives an important bit of information; the STAMINA left after a workout.

You can reset the stamina to 100% for the price of $1 or 1 Bonus Credit

If you think the horse is a stayer and the stamina comes back at 3% at 2850, this means the horse is exhausted and doesn’t get the 2850, so you need to check 2400. If that comes back at 18%, then this horse is a stayer that prefers only 2400.

If, however, it comes back at 9%, it probably means you miscalculated and it’s a classic horse. So try a public workout of 2000

Conversely if you work it public at 1000M and stamina returns at 33%, then this is too short, try 1600M

We are looking at returning from a public work at no less than 15% in general, maybe 10% for a stayer.

After a race the stamina return will be lower than a public, so if it ends a public workout at 15%, it may be around 8% for a race, which is fine.

TRAINING YOUR FIRST HORSE – Method 3

Getting started – assessing your yearling or new 2yo

Before  beginning to assess your horse you need something to compare them with. On the main menu tab on News and then tab on public workouts. Select age of the horse you are looking for,  and the season number. Leave the ground selection at any, you can drill down to the going later.  I would suggest you print off a copy for each age group, you are looking at  for ease of making comparisons with the times your horse returns.

  1. On day one when you purchase or breed your horse you get eight training runs it is important to use them wisely to identify the sort of horse you  have. You should be able to identify favoured ground and goings, add ons and be able to compare your horse with the general horse population. If you fail to use the eight training days on Day 1 on subsequent days you only get only two trains which makes the whole process more time consuming.

  1. On the horses details page tab  on the growth icon. This will show you the level of maturity your horse has on the two grounds and each of the two goings. Make a note of the greatest level of maturity on which surface and which of the two goings on that surface.

  1. Tab on the training tab and choose farm training,  select  1600 on the best surface and ground and choose one training run and go. Repeat in turn with each add on leaving in place if improvement in time is recorded. That concludes your first four training runs and you will have established the add on preferences. If you are unsure you can make a note in the notes  to revisit later to recheck

  1. Now tab on training again and run over 1200 and 2850 to conclude your Fifth and sixth training runs. Now tab on training on the left hand side of the page below upcoming races. Then tab on view records and you will see the results of the training runs you have undertaken.

  1. Now compare your horses times over 1200, 1600, and 2850 with the charts to establish whether sprint , classic or staying distances suit you horse best. It is important to note that whilst the time against the best is interesting it does not at this stage define your horses potential. All you are doing is establishing best distance grouping.

  1. Return to the next training run page and select all goings on the favoured ground and the favoured distance grouping . Run your final, two training  runs for the first day.

  1. You are now in a position to run two trainings each day going forward. Once you have established your horses best going and best specific distance with its favoured distance grouping you are one in a position to run a Public Work. This must be done before you horses can run in their first races.

  1. On a two year old’s page if you tab on the growth icon you will see there is a overall maturity line in addition to the four lines on ground and going that you saw on a yearlings page. This is a very important indicator of your horses potential for maturity growth and likely improvement prospects. You do not see this on the yearling page only being evident when your horse tuns two therefore you cannot fully evaluate your horses ability potential until the current maturity level is known.

  1. Additionally there is no point in gelding a yearling in the search for improved times. Indeed personally I would not geld until a decision can be made regarding racing at Senior level. It also needs to be weighed against breeding potential

Some senior players have generously given their time to collaborate and piece together a secondary FAQ.  Please find their helpful tips below.

New Player Resources:  https://www.sportofkings.us/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=2

How to best use the first ten training runs

On the first day of purchase there are 10 training runs (8 farm trains and 2 public works) which should be used to determine horse’s distance, ground and adds preferences. Afterwards there are only 2 farm trains per day. Hover on VIEW GROWTH: boxes with the most green will often be the horse preferred surface (either turf or dirt) Also click on the horses sire near the horses head and you will be able to see all the progeny records of that sire which will show if it normally produces for instance dirt stayers or turf sprinters. These are big clues where to concentrate your training. Click on TRAIN and you have the option to farm work or public work your horse (default is farm work) When you have found your horses best trip do a public work to make sure it stays that trip. Generally speaking stamina remaining should be at least 10 % else it needs a shorter trip. 20%+ means it should be tested at a longer trip. As a precaution its advisable when you are happy with trip, going and adds that you give it a run on its best going over opposite surface just to confirm you have its dirt or turf preference correct as some horses can be dual surface.

You should refer to the New Player Advice section of the forum and the posted note entitled ‘training your first horse’. This outlines the training routines of three established stables – these should be used as a guide to structuring your own training routine.

How to check out adds

A. Train over 1600m with no adds followed by 3 more farm trains with each add, blinkers  tongue tie and ear muffs, one at a time. Using first train as a baseline any big improvements i.e. running more than 0.5s faster indicates that the horse probably wants that add and any big decrease indicates that it doesn’t like that add. Where there is no clear indication either way Tongue Tie can be checked by running two public works over the horse’s best trip. A horse generally will not require use of tongue tie unless stamina increases. Master Trainer can then be used once to check either blinkers or ear muffs. Click Equipment to visit Master Trainer.

How to assess your horse within the general population

A. (Premium access needed) Click on TRAINING then VIEW RECORDS. You will see colour-coded stars 1 star-orange 2 star-blue 3 star-green which signify top 50, 25 and 5% times respectively over the entire site. No stars is outside top 50%. These refer to training times only and is no guarantee of how  a horse will perform in a race. Another indicator of a horses overall standing is the public workout lists accessed via NEWS then LEADERBOARDS

How do I pay and find Premium Access?

A. Firstly click on my account(top right of main screen) and then the little icon to the right of your stable name(underneath Racing Data),you will then see your account details page. On the right is your Account Options and the Purchase Premium Access link is about half way down.
This page will appear:
Purchase Premium

So now you have it for a month what do you get for it?

A. I will go through the main if not all benefits for you. On the main screen top left, click the Stables icon you will see a new choice, Premium Features has appeared. When you click on it you should see this: Premium Page

  • Auto Trainer Settings--you can set your horses to train automatically every night instead of you training manually, they will train to the preferences you have set on each horse’s page.
  • Horses Potential--you can see the growth and potential of your horses without going to each horse individually.
  • Top Training Times--your top training times by all your horses together for your pleasure.
  • Stable Race Time Report--your horses race times altogether.
  • Global Workout Stats--all horses that have trained not just yours have records here, you do not know which horse but you will see if your horses training compares to other players by AGE and DISTANCE. The GOING is not included so Turf and Dirt cannot be judged separately.

How does maturity work and impact upon potential

A. Horses will mature randomly over time both overall and on the different goings. When the boxes are full green then no further growth is possible. The faster a horse is able to race on a lower maturity the greater the  potential of that horse to excel on the track. To check maturity hover on VIEW GROWTH (below horse picture)

How to place your horse to good effect

 A. Every horse should run in a maiden first time out, the value of which (either free or token) should correspond to how good you think the horse is. The training times/stars will give you a clue as will previous results over trip and going from the same age group. Bear in mind that some horses can run green first time out and especially if starting out on low maturity so second run will be a more reliable gauge of how good your horse is. Find your horses level and race it there. Championship, stakes (high or low) or claimers.

MISSYJO (Bob Baffert) was a revelation once switched to sprinting, culminating in an emphatic victory in the juvenile turf sprint championship over 7F last season. She is unbeaten in all three sprint qualifiers as a 3yo (ranging from 5F to 7f) and must start a hot favourite to win back to back championships.

Dont Buddy Me (American Pharoah Stable) heads the list of challengers but does not look to have the raw speed for this.

Sompting Roses (Nemesis Stud) has finished second in all three qualifiers (twice seeing the back of Missyjo) and would appear to have preferred firm going.

Courageous Heart (Black Cat Racing) beat Sompting Roses by 3L in a qualifier over these conditions and looks nailed on to give the favourite a lot to think about. She is certainly the one most likely to cause an upset.

Don Abascus (Ranch Hamburg) has done most of his winning over 1M and did not have the speed for this when last tried over 5F.

Fatalbert Tck (Kings Of Thrones) has never tackled so short a trip which suggests he is likely to struggle here.

Red Buttons (True Blue Stable) hasn't shown much this season though his run in a qualifier under todays conditions when beaten 3L and a neck by Courageous Heart and Sompting Roses was a good effort.

Boxer Knows Nothing (Black Cat Racing) should like the going and looks competent at the trip so is expected to go well without troubling the principles.

Grenade Luncher is the first of three entries from Anfield Road and this one dead-heated for third with Red buttons in the above-mentioned race. Sunnyboy was runner up to Missyjo in last seasons final over 7F but hasn't shown a lot this season and has no form over the trip whilst Maybe Later has done her winning in claimers before changing stables and switching to the championships where she has run with credit.

Buzz Bomb (illiterate bunch) completes the field and is closely matched with the principles and expected to go well.

ODDS: MISSYJO 6/4 FAV, Courageous Heart 5/2, Sompting Roses 5/1, Boxer knows Nothing 13/2, Buzz Bomb & Red Buttons 7/1, Grenade Launcher 15/2, Dont Buddy Me 8/1, Maybe Later 9/1, Don Abascus 10/1, Fatalbert Tck 12/1, Sunnyboy 14/1

The contenders are headed by Bahia De Los Piratas ( one of three entries from Illiterate bunch) Her form is rock solid and running over ideal conditions has every chance of giving her trainer a well deserved championship success. Hand Of God has never gone beyond 6F but there is every reason to think that he will get it and be a major player here. Simply Still was a neck and a head in front of Hand Of God when beating Wee Willie in a qualifier over 6f fast. He is also untested over 7F but shows every likelihood of getting it.

Branigan (Ranch Hamburg) had comprehensively beaten Bahia De Los Piratas in a qualifier over 7F fast but had the form overturned albeit narrowly over the same trip on good ground. Must have a big say in this final.

Wind Box (Black Cat Racing) also untried over the trip and has a bit to find on 6F fast qualifier running back in March.

Wee Willie (True Blue Stable) is competent but does not quite see out this trip so a bigger danger looks to be stablemate Bloomsbury though that one has ground to make up on both Bahia De Los Piratas and Branigan.

Muggins (the first of three entries for Anfield Road) gets the trip really well and should put in a good effort but both Pharaoh and El Condor Pasa will struggle stamina wise.

Winkerwatson (Bob Baffert) has only fair form over shorter and won't get this trip either so is overlooked.

Rockerfella (makes the field for new stable Closutton Cognac) has no form over the trip but this expensive purchase expected to come into his own at stud soon enough.

ANALYSIS: With three very strong contenders Illiterate Bunch seemingly holds the key to this race. The question is do you go for the proven form of Bahia De Los Piratas or the untapped potential of either Hand Of God or Simply Still? Or can Branigan who set a scintillating time in the above mentioned race overturn subsequent form on this going?

ODDS: Bahia De Los Piratas 4/1 FAV, Branigan 9/2, Hand Of God 5/1, Simply Still 11/2, Muggins 7/1, Bloomsbury 15/2, Rockerfella 8/1, Wee Wille 9/1, Wind Box 10/1, Winker Watson 16/1, 33/1 bar

Topping the points table with three qualifier wins Don Abascus (Ranch Hamburg) is certain to be running this final instead of the sprint. He has posted some breathtaking times including two new three year old track records and looks certain to end up in the record books for wins/earnings in the future.

Kracken (Anfield Road) clear second on the points table can boast a qualifier win over Don Abascus at 1m. But that was on firm and the form has twice been reversed in top class races on soft, giving the 'Don' a clear edge. Second string No Surrender looks outclassed.

Spaniel (True Blue Stable) qualifier win over 1 1/8M (1800) and has proven vulnerable to more progressive sorts at this trip.

Jones (Bob Baffert) may prefer stiffer test and hasn't shown enough so far.

Cosmic Bulldog (first of two for Nemesis Stud) looks better over further but Nefertiti looks the real deal with a big say in this. She has ideal conditions today and the score is two-two against Don Abascus in top class races this season under these conditions. The similarities are seemingly endless with Nefertiti also boasting two new three year old track records. The record books beckons for this one also.

Kelsea (Lanes End Farm) has had just the two runs this season culminating in an excellent second to Don Abascus with Kraken, Fatalbert Tck, Nefertiti, Spaniel and Jones well beaten off over 1M firm. Although that qualifier took place fairly early in the season and was on firm ground, which may be her preference, it was an excellent performance and coming from a stable that knows the time of day this one needs to be taken very seriously indeed.

Fatalbert Tck (Kings Of Thrones) has run some excellent races this season and likely to take his chance here rather than the sprint final.

Silver Kitten (Black Cat Racing) has put in some solid efforts but needs to improve again to trouble the best of these.

Anayetaka Mtoto (runs for newcomer MJ Stables) solid form this season and put in a great effort when fourth in the last qualifier.

Chick Chiquita (illiterate bunch) needs major improvement to figure here.

ANALYISIS: A fascinating race in prospect with some seriously high class animals on show.

ODDS: DON ABASCUS & NEFERTITI 3/1 jtfavs, Kelsea 7/2, Kraken 4/1, Fatalbert Tck 9/2, Anayetaka Mtoto 6/1, Silver Kitten 7/1, Spaniel 10/1, Cosmic Bulldog 14/1, Jones 16/1, No Surrender 20/1, Chick Chiquita 25/1

After setting two juvenile track records and an unbeaten run of six on the bounce Horatio (Black Cat Racing) has picked up her 3yo campaign where she left off and is 100 points clear of her rivals after four wins and a second from five qualifier runs. Proven over the trip this one will definitely be a tough nut to crack. stablemates Champagne Nation and Silver Nation both have a bit to find to be competitive.

Bloomsbury (True Blue Stable) is the only horse to have beaten Horatio this season but that was over 1M and unproven over this trip he would be expected to take his chance in the sprint final. Stablemate Positive ran a good third to Horatio and Ride Of The Valkyries and looks set for minor honors again.

Ride Of The Valkyries (Nemesis Stud) has been runner up to Horatio three times this season, distances have varied from a neck to 1/2L so has chances of finally getting his head in front when it matters if everything falls right. Stablemate Alpha Male has solid form over the trip while Epic Adventure is untried but looks useful.

Bellaziva (Anfield Road) has some decent form mostly over a mile but looks a bit reluctant.

Bahia De Los Piratas (illiterate bunch) has very good form over 1M but would be expected to run in the sprint final over 7F as wouldn't get this trip.

Flash Bird (Closutton Cognac) has run well enough this season but is another set to struggle with the trip.

Super Duper (illiterate bunch) has decent form over the trip but might prefer fast going to be seen to best effect.

ODDS: HORATIO 4/5, Ride Of The Valkyries 6/4, Positive 5/1, Champagne Nation 6/1, Alpha Male 7/1, Silver Nation 8/1, Epic Adventure 9/1,Super duper & Flash Bird 10/1, Bellaziva 12/1, (with a run Bloomsbury 8/1, Bahia De Los Piratas 11/1)

Rusty Walker (True Blue Stable) is top points scorer for the stayers final having notched up two wins and three seconds in qualifiers. He looks to have a big say in this unlike stablemate Belgium who has yet to show his best.

SANDRINGHAM (Anfield Road) is second on the list from two fewer runs and is unbeaten in three qualifier runs all over the finals distance with Rusty Walker behind on each occasion. There is no reason for the form to be overturned and his last run when unplaced can be safely ignored as he was turned out too quickly. Alexio is third on the list and has run well without looking a likely winner of this whilst 'third string' Man Of Means has shown more heart and looks the better proposition of the two.

Famous Model (Black Cat Racing) was last seasons juvenile heroine winning the turf marathon over 2m but on the limited evidence available she may not have the speed for this much shorter final. She is very closely matched with stablemate Rich And Powerful for whom similar comments apply and the stables main hope here lies with Boxers Thoughts who has run some excellent races this season finishing just behind the likes of Sandringham and Rusty Walker.

Ebony (Random Stables) also has very little form over the trip and probably would appreciate further.

Liverpoolfc and Costa(are runners for new stable K D S) have both put in some decent efforts but look outclassed overall.

Machine Gun Kelly (Nemesis Stud) completes the lineup and has also run well without looking up to this level.

ODDS: SANDRINGHAM 6/4 FAV, Rusty Walker 3/1, Boxers Thoughts 5/1, Rich And Powerful 13/2, Famous Model 7/1, Man Of Means 8/1, Machine Gun Kelly 9/1 Alexio 10/1, Belgium 16/1, Ebony 18/1,Liverpoolfc 20/1, Costa 25/1,

Only ten qualifiers for this final headed byTwo Left Feet (Chaos Rules) This one barely gets the trip and is better on fast so his target here is just a place before attempting a career at stud.

Mundig (True Blue Stable) is second highest points scorer and is expected to go well. Expect a ding dong battle with Two Left Feet for second place.

Rossini (Lanes End Farm) has only run in two qualifiers this season, winning both after taking the gold grade platinum trials on his three year old debut. He is confidently expected to maintain this seasons unbeaten record in taking this final as he is head and shoulders above his peers.

Bryan Suits Heels (Black Cat Racing) has consistently finished behind the principles and it should not be any different here. Powerful Royal has even more work to do to figure and Famous I Think looks to have a mountain to climb.

Sharpy (Simple Soul) still a relatively new trainer for this one who needs to improve dramatically.

Giants Causeway (Nemesis Stud) will find this trip too far and stablemate The Death Trap who gets the trip will struggle to overturn form with several of these.

Special Forces (KINGS OF THRONES) set to struggle here.

ODDS: ROSSINI 1/2 FAV, Mundig 5/1, Two Left Feet 11/2, Bryan Suits Heels 6/1, The Death Trap 7/1, Powerful Royal 9/1, Giants Causeway 10/1, 33/1 bar

Season 15 Updates

Season 15 is just around the corner (May 15, 2019) and we've seen some dramatic events and features

Season 15 is just around the corner (May 15, 2019) and we've seen some dramatic events and features unveiled for the upcoming year.  We continue to see new stables come and make their respective marks on our leader-boards, many are competing for championships in their very first season!  Here is a list of important changes that have made their way to the game for the upcoming season.

  • Introduction of breeding awards and bonuses!
    • Breeding Awards / Bonus - this will be multi-factored. We are going to look at awarding a bonus equal to a fraction of the purse (paid in BC for now) to the breeding stable (non sales ring horses). We are also going to have a season long leaderboard that will begin season 15. Starting season 16 we will implement a cash prize to the stable that produces the most earnings as a breeder. [Note this will not impact purses or payouts but is an additional payout]
  • Complete schedule overhaul and revamp
  • Season long schedule rolled out at the beginning of the year!
  • Significant improvements on the cadence of opportunities for horses and improved earning potentials for horses.
  • Official introduction of Divisional racing which will allow for far more winning opportunities for older horses.
  • Championship finals have been renamed to Champions Cup

Top scoring qualifier Rossini (Lanes End Farm) can be considered really unlucky to have won his first qualifier run when carrying a penalty he beat Two Left Feet by 0.01s with Basurero another 0.02s. behind. This means he now carries 4LB extra which he has not been able to overcome in his next two qualifier runs and makes his job so much harder for the final. Its not all doom and gloom though because Two Left Feet (Chaos Rules) has a preference for fast ground and may struggle to overturn the form on this slower going and Basurero (Illiterate Bunch) has since gone on to win a qualifier meaning that they reoppose on the same terms so no reason Rossini cannot confirm form with these two.

Dark Persona (Chaos Rules) gallops all over his stablemates at home but despite a qualifier win over further doesn't seem to sparkle on the track. Stablemate Dawn Of Empire is the opposite only coming to life on the track and her last qualifier run gives her a slight edge over both Rossini and Basurero.

Pulpit (Random Stables) One would assume that this one does not have the pace for 1 & 1/2M for trainer to allow it to be penalized for a progress win.

Southern Light (Illiterate Bunch) has put in some pleasing efforts and should give a good account but stablemate Cruz De Navajas hasn't shown enough to be seriously considered here.

GIANTS CAUSEWAY (Nemesis Stud) fits the profile of the stables previous championship winners being lightly raced, and progressive sorts. No surprise for this one to add another trophy to the overflowing cabinet.

Bryan Suits Heels (Black Cat Racing) recent maiden winner in a quick time ,running into form and cannot be easily dismissed here. Stablemate Powerful Royal worked hard to make this final but would need to show massive improvement to get involved in the finish.

Polarshift (Kings Of Thrones) also needs to step up on previous form to be competitive.

ODDS: GIANTS CAUSEWAY 5/2 FAV, Dawn Of Empire 5/1, Rossini 6/1, Two Left Feet 13/2, Basurero 7/1, Bryan Suits Heels 15/2, Southern Light 8/1, Polarshift 9/1, Cruz De Navajas 10/1, Dark Persona 12/1, Powerful Royal 16/1, Pulpit 20/1

After 5 qualifier runs Courageous Heart, (Black Cat Racing), has a record breaking 101 points in qualifying for this final but lacks the stamina for this race as does Unusual Caviar (Coyr).

Fatalbert Tck (Kings Of Thrones) runs over ideal conditions and despite a 2LB penalty we may not have seen the best of this one yet. Stablemate Monteray won't last home.

Lightly raced Sunnyboy (Ranch Hamburg) should confirm superiority over Fatalbert Tck and has strong claims here but the same stables Roeisha and Don Abascus both look to have increasingly tougher tasks.

Marcus Brutus (Nemesis Stud) escapes a penalty for his qualifier win but needs to improve again to win this. (Correction: maiden win coming in a qualifier means he does incur a penalty which compromises his chance here)

MISSYJO (Bob Baffert) has shown top form since being switched to sprinting and looks like the one they all have to beat here.
Misterbill (Anfield Rd) is one of only two sales ring horses to make this final. He has good form over the trip and is certain to see it out well but may not quite be good enough.

P.C. (Lanes End Farm) also lacks stamina for this.

Surpreyes Package (Rubi Rocks) is the other sales ring horse and this one has looked reluctant at times taking eleven runs to break its duck and that win coming on dirt instead of todays turf.

ODDS: MISSYJO 5/2 FAV, Sunnyboy 7/2, Fatalalbert Tck 5/1, Marcus Brutus 6/1, Misterbill 8/1, Roeisha 9/1, Don Abascus 10/1, Surpreyes Package 14/1, 20/1 bar.
